In this last year, the company has continued to grow and establish itself in an increasingly consolidated and competitive sector. Global Cargo System has been providing transportation solutions to the global market for almost two decades. We have the knowledge and experience to optimize your transport processes to the maximum. In Spain we have 5 offices (Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Murcia and Zaragoza) which allows us to offer a broader and closer service throughout the Spanish territory. In addition, not only has it grown nationally, but the effort made has allowed them to continue crossing borders and reaching countries like China and that is how Global Cargo System is gradually creating a consolidated network of offices throughout everyone. It has a presence in China, Portugal, Mexico, and Spain.

GCS dyes its trucks and containers pink in support of breast cancer awareness month. https://www.gcsspain.com/en/gcs-dyes-its-trucks-and-containers-pink-in-support-of-breast-cancer-awareness-month/ https://www.gcsspain.com/en/gcs-dyes-its-trucks-and-containers-pink-in-support-of-breast-cancer-awareness-month/#respond Mon, 12 Dec 2022 17:49:51 +0000 https://www.gcsspain.com/gcs-tine-de-rosa-sus-camiones-y-contenedores-en-apoyo-al-mes-de-la-concienciacion-sobre-el-cancer-de-mama/ In line with its ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of its employees and communities, GCS Spain has launched a local campaign to coincide with breast cancer awareness month, involving everything that surrounds us marks our day to day. For us it is essential to raise awareness among our staff, customers and the general public about the disease and the importance of being aware and staying alert for its early detection and prevention.

As part of its campaign, GCS Spain has illuminated its main office in Valencia in pink, and has taken containers and trucks out to sea and onto the streets with the breast cancer awareness ribbon.

According to the WHO “Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer, worldwide two million cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year.” The diagnosis has an indescribable emotional impact on each patient, but also on the family , friends and colleagues. As an integral member of the communities in which we operate, and with a large community of employees, Global Cargo System joins the fight against breast cancer and wants to do its part to help raise awareness of that prevention and early detection is essential.

Since 1980 important advances have been made in the treatment of breast cancer; between the 1980s and 2020, age-standardized breast cancer mortality in high-income countries fell by 40%. In low- and middle-income countries these improvements have yet to be achieved. The improvement in results is the result of the combination of early detection and effective therapies, based on surgery, radiotherapy and pharmacotherapy.

According to Geicam (the association for breast cancer research) estimates that in Spain there are about 132 cases of women who suffer from it for every 100,000 citizens. The chance of developing breast cancer is about 1 in 8 women.

From Global Cargo System, we want to send a message of solidarity and support to all the people and families who are fighting against this disease.

Golden week and its effects on shipping https://www.gcsspain.com/en/golden-week-and-its-effects-on-shipping/ https://www.gcsspain.com/en/golden-week-and-its-effects-on-shipping/#respond Mon, 12 Dec 2022 17:49:51 +0000 https://www.gcsspain.com/golden-week-y-sus-efectos-en-el-transporte-maritimo-2/ Golden Week, one of the main commemorations of the Asian giant that has major effects on logistics companies.

WHAT IS GOLDEN WEEK?

On October 1, the festive week known as Golden Week begins in China and therefore many companies close throughout the country during that week (October 1-7) to celebrate the People’s Republic of China. These are days that many families take advantage of to rest and meet with their loved ones.

The term “Golden Week” is used in China to refer to the main holiday periods celebrated in the country, as well as the Lunar New Year, which last between 7 and 8 days in which factories, shops and production in general they close and only the minimum service of essential companies is guaranteed.

HOW CHINESE HOLIDAYS AFFECT SHIPPING.

China’s influence in the international market is so great that although the shutdown of production across the country is well known and anticipated, it has the potential to cause major problems in the global logistics chain.

One of the consequences of the Golden Week in maritime transport is the lack of space and delays, together with the cancellation of services by shipping companies during the festivities, which causes a shortage of space in containers and triggers overbooking in ports and terminals that can take several weeks. At Global Cargo System we have SOC (shipper owned container) which can be a benefit for our customers.

On the other hand, with all this, it is not difficult to imagine that another consequence of Golden Week is the increase in the price of containers. The effects that all this can have on the logistics sector can be caused by the consequences mentioned above but also by the repercussions of the COVID pandemic and the measures to be carried out.

HOW TO MANAGE YOUR SHIPMENTS DURING GOLDEN WEEK

The effects that this holiday has on the logistics sector and the entire world are inevitable, but at GCS we can help you plan to prepare your shipments so that their effects on your business are as mild as possible.

Good planning begins by knowing which merchandise is most urgent and prioritizing its shipment as well as looking for alternative routes. United Win offices in China will be closed from October 1 to 7. In our commitment to provide coverage throughout the world, Global Cargo System is present in China through United Win, which, with ten offices in the country, is in charge of planning all operations. In addition, United Win maintains a close relationship with shipping companies, in this way during the Golden Week festivities if something happens, we will continue together with our clients offering the best service. In addition, through our “One Desk” service, customers will be able to track loads.

Discover the main ports of Spain https://www.gcsspain.com/en/discover-the-main-ports-of-spain/ https://www.gcsspain.com/en/discover-the-main-ports-of-spain/#respond Thu, 06 Oct 2022 13:44:06 +0000 https://www.gcsspain.com/descubre-los-principales-puertos-de-espana/ At Global Cargo System we are a comprehensive import and export logistics service. As professionals in maritime freight transport, we know the most important seaports in the country. In this article, we will tell you about the main ports in Spain and their main characteristics.

Spain is an efficient and expansive maritime trade, it has a reputation that has brought prosperity to the country. With excellent infrastructures and consistent growth in technology, equipment and experience, Spanish ports will continue to be key in the commercial, cooperative and economic development of the country. One of the main characteristics that we can highlight is that the country’s ports have a strategic position for many of them, this position is very useful in the case of transshipments and for this reason we are at the top of the European and world ranking.

The top most important seaports in Spain:

  • Port of Valencia. First of all we have the port of Valencia. It is the most prominent port in the Mediterranean and is in fifth place in Europe. It was inaugurated in 1941 and turns out to be an excellent starting point for a multitude of industry ships, containers, as well as ships from other sectors such as tourist cruises.
  • Port of Algeciras. It is one of the largest ports in Spain. This is in sixth place in Europe, one of the highlights of it is the incredible security measures of the Algeciras Bay Port Authority. This feature positions it among the best ports in Europe in terms of security.
  • Port of Barcelona. It is a port divided into four sections with different functions, these four are the commercial port, the old port and the logistics port, and the free trade zone. The port of Barcelona is in seventh place in the Mediterranean, it is distinguished by its great management of equipment and containers. As for commercial activities, its proximity to France makes the port of Barcelona a good gateway to international trade.
  • Port of Bilbao. The port of Bilbao has evolved to become one of the main commercial routes of the European Atlantic Ocean. Today, it is the main port in terms of trade with the United Kingdom. The port has built its infrastructure in dry ports and other logistics zones. It is associated with the commercialization of steel and iron of the time. We can highlight that the population of the area depends to a large extent on the port in terms of jobs in transport, tourism, engineering and ship repairs, among others.

If you want to know more information about the sector, do not hesitate to consult our news page, where we will inform you about the latest news.
