Current events in the Red Sea
Due to recent events in the Red Sea, several container ships have been attacked with missiles in the Strait of Bab el-Mandeb, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden.
The main shipping lines have decided that all vessels previously paused and, due to sailing through the region, will now be rerouted around Africa via the Cape of Good Hope for safety reasons. According to initial forecasts, one of the direct consequences will be the possible delay in arrival at the destination. They will continue their voyages on the diverted routes as soon as operationally feasible.
